About CETRI

Our Mission

To empower Caribbean journalists with training and resources to produce high-quality, well-researched coverage of clean energy issues, ensuring that communities are informed and engaged in the critical dialogue on energy transition and resilience in the face of climate change.

Energy Landscape

The Caribbean is at a critical juncture in its energy landscape. Transitioning to clean and affordable energy is essential for combating climate change and ensuring economic stability.

Key Challenges

  • Outdated infrastructure
  • Limited access to affordable financing
  • Regulatory frameworks that do not support rapid adoption of renewable technologies
  • Vertically monopolistic and state-owned utility systems

CETRI's Approach

By equipping reporters with the skills and resources necessary for effective storytelling, CETRI aims to ensure that Caribbean audiences are engaged in meaningful discussions about sustainable energy solutions and the implications of climate change on their future.
