Reporting Grants

The Caribbean Energy Transition Reporting Initiative (CETRI) is inviting applications for its final round of US$400 reporting grants to support original, solutions-focused journalism on renewable energy in the English-speaking Caribbean.

The Caribbean is at a critical crossroads in the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Journalists have a vital role in shaping informed public conversations around energy security, climate resilience, and economic opportunity.

CETRI is looking for enterprising reporters who want to tell impactful, community-centered stories that highlight the challenges and opportunities of a just energy transition.

Eligibility

Grant Details

$400USD Funding

Grantees will receive two personalized one-on-one mentoring sessions with CETRI’s consultant — one at the start of reporting and one before final submission

Grant Application Form

Submit your proposal for the 2025 Energy Transition Reporting Grant.

The application period runs from September 29, 2025 to October 19, 2025 (3 weeks). Grantees will be announced on October 29, 2025 via radio, television, and online press. Each selected project will receive a grant amount of US$400. The deadline for project completion is December 10, 2025. All stories will be cross-published on CETRI’s website for regional visibility.
