Castries, Saint Lucia — May 20, 2026 — The Caribbean Energy Transition Reporting Initiative (CETRI) has announced the opening of the second round of its Reporting Grants programme, supporting journalists from the English-speaking Caribbean in producing compelling stories on renewable energy, climate resilience and the region’s energy transition.

Recognizing the pivotal role journalism plays in informing citizens and shaping public discourse, CETRI aims to support freelancers and staff reporters, photographers, radio producers, podcasters, multimedia storytellers and content creators interested in covering the Caribbean’s evolving energy landscape.

The initiative encourages thoughtful, solutions-oriented reporting that helps communities better understand and engage with issues such as renewable energy adoption, energy equity, resilience, innovation and policy development for a more sustainable future.

The first round of CETRI reporting grants supported a diverse range of stories across the Region and highlighted growing interest in Caribbean energy transition journalism.

Applications opened on May 20, 2026, and will close on June 20, 2026.

Successful applicants will be announced on June 25, 2026, with projects expected to be completed by July 31, 2026.

Applicants must submit a project proposal, distribution plan, writing or multimedia samples and a résumé or CV.
